Every deck scope for a Treasure Valley back yard

From a $9,000 treated deck two steps down off a slider to a $60,000 covered outdoor room in Eagle. What each scope involves, what it costs in this valley, and how long it takes on site.

Where the material money goes

The framing under a deck is the same regardless of what the surface is: pressure treated joists, a beam, posts, and footings below the frost line. Only the boards, fasteners, and fascia change with the material, which is why the headline price gap between wood and composite is smaller than the per-board price gap suggests.

Installed deck cost per square foot by decking material Pressure treated pine runs 32 to 48 dollars per square foot installed, western red cedar 42 to 66, capped composite 55 to 88, and capped PVC 66 to 105. $0 $25 $50 $75 $100 Pressure treated pine $32 to $48 Western red cedar $42 to $66 Capped composite $55 to $88 Capped PVC $66 to $105 Treasure Valley, installed cost per square foot, 2026 estimate
Installed cost per square foot for a complete deck, framing and footings included, rail and stairs priced separately. The framing under all four is identical, which is why the material premium applies to less of the job than people expect.

Rail is priced separately and runs from about $45 per linear foot for wood to $300 for glass panel. The cost estimator puts a footprint, a material, and a rail choice together into a range, and the cost guide explains what moves each line.
